ASM 2008 SOCIAL EVENTS

REGISTRATION & OPENING RECEPTION

On Sunday, 6 July, following an initial registration period (5:00-7:00 PM) at Hackett Hall (close to the UWA Clock Tower), there will be an Opening Reception (6:00-8:00 PM). A buffet with drinks will be provided.

STAND-UP LUNCH

On Monday 7 July there will be a "Stand-up Lunch" provided in the main foyer of the MCS building (this is courtesy of the ASA).

CONFERENCE DINNER

As an important part of the ASM, the Conference Dinner is included in the registration fee. It will be held on Wednesday 9 July, from 7:30 to 11 PM, and will include the announcements of student prizes. Please ensure that you indicate any special dietary requirements on your registration form.

The dinner venue is at the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club, located on the bank of the Swan river about 3 km south of the UWA Crawley campus, on the Esplanade in Dalkeith. The ASM organisers will provide a bus to and from UWA to the conference dinner.

GUEST TICKETS

Guests are welcome to attend the ASM 2008 Opening Reception, at a cost of $30 per ticket ($40 if you register late).

Guests are welcome to attend the ASM 2008 conference dinner, at a cost of $80 per ticket ($90 if you register late).

Please order all guest tickets when you register and pay online. For our conference planning purposes, please also indicate in the online registration form whether or not you intend to come to each of these events (there is, however, no registration fee reduction if you choose not to attend an event whose cost has been included in the fee).

OBSERVATORIES TOUR

After the ASM has ended, on Friday 11 July, there will be an organised bus tour of local observatories, including a brief visit to a winery in the Swan Valley. The places visited will be: Tickets for this tour will be $90pp and a brochure/map for the tour is available for download.
